What does color say about your image?

As a business man in the promotional products / decorated apparel industry not only does the style of a garment make a statement, but the color does too.  And although many companies lean toward selecting company colors for their clothing, others choose different colored garments for different events, purposes, messages, markets or positions within the company.

The following is a color test to see how well you know your colors and what they convey to your audience.

1.    Which color conveys creativity, happiness, vitality, youth, playfulness and also competitive prices?

Yellow. Most preferred by children

2.    Which color relays loyalty, stability, intelligence, wisdom and trust (America's most favored color 2:1)?

Blue -- Men’s favorite. And a shade that everyone can wear

3.    The color most preferred by senior citizens.  It denotes purity, cleanliness, freshness, goodness.

White. Seniors love white – shirts and cars. (Now you’ll notice it.)

4.    The color of refinement.  It emotes caring, tenderness, self-worth, love, quiet, beauty and acceptance.

Pink. The caring color -- perhaps why it’s such a favorite of women

5.    The #1 favorite color of teens, and the least favorite color for adults.  It represents fun, warmth, healthy appetite.

 Orange. Teens always crave the opposite of what adults want.

6.    The #2 favorite color for young girl teens, but the 2nd least favorite color of adults overall.   -Conveys royalty, mystery, magic, power, spirituality, wealth and luxury.

Purple. Lilac shades for the teens. Darker for royalty, luxury.

7.    The color most preferred by folks in the Midwest.  Portrays someone who is solid, reliable, approachable, organic, genuine.

Browns. Tans, khakis. The natural colors of our skin, and of nature.

8.    The favorite clothing color for techies.  Portrays a business-like attitude, an urban feel.

Grey. Industrial, technical, sophisticated neutrals.

9.    The color most preferred by the majority of presidents and business leaders.  It is also the color of relaxation, health, nature, growth, fertility and safety. 

Green. The color of money and nature. One of the most calming colors

in lighter shades.
